Jocko Collins
John P. Collins was born in New York〔 and raised in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. He attended Saint Joseph's Preparatory School and Saint Joseph's College, where he was captain of the baseball and basketball teams and graduated in 1927. He also served as a high school basketball coach and scouted for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. He died in Philadelphia in 1986 at the age of 80.〔
